but you dont even have a degree!!!!!!
NO, I am not trying to fool you. I haven't got a degree and I am going to write a research paper. Is that even possible you might ask?
Let me tell you a bit of backstory, I have always been interested in both science and physical therapy . Ever since I was introduced to the subject of physical therapy by a few leading figures such as Elliot hulse, Kelly starett and a few others like Gray cook I began my journey into the subject of physical therapy and was hooked from the start. Apart from wasting my time on stupid click bait YouTube videos, I have been pretty much reading and studying every day for the last 4 years. Anyway its been a very very long time and Its only now I decided to pick up the pieces and began to write a blog about all of this. My background really is in science, specifically earth science and that where i get that investigative spirit from.
Anyhow on to the research part. Ive been thinking about things a lot lately and realized I love the research end of physical therapy, its so intriguing and really enjoy the whole process of reading and scientific investigation. So I decided I would pursue a path down research. Why??? Well two reasons, 1. Inspiration and 2. passion.
Inspiration???? The inspiration to go down this path comes from reminiscing on the death of my grandfather, Frank Winder, Ive been thinking a lot about him lately and have been in touch with old acquantainces of his to find out more about him. He's dead now and has been for over 10 years and I was always too young to really remember him properly. What has he got to do with research? Well he was a leading biochemistry professor in Trinity College Dublin and focused on publishing and directing research to combat tuberculosis( TB ). His work has been very influential and well respected in the biochemistry community with his work paving the way for very import advancements in the treatment on TB. the mans a wizard and will always be close to my heart. I know if he was sitting beside me now, he'd be proud of me now if he saw me would definitely encourage the young scientist in me. Thinking about his work and recognising the fact that I love the research end of physical therapy. I decided I am going to go ahead and write a research paper. Yes the intro and title are both correct. I am not trying to fool you. I haven't got a degree and I am looking to write a research paper!! Hopefully Frank is up in Heaven where he can see me.
Originally, I was thinking about pursuing a phd in a university after my bachelors is finished and only now I realise that you don't need a degree or even a Phd to publish research. Suprising hoh? So I'm going to get started on it now! My goal is to submit a research paper by the time the month of Septmber comes around. Its a big ask but I am always up for a challenge and since I am making it public now, it will put me to the test!
Hope to hear from some of you.
